Nations Training Institute has joined hands with several
key ministry partners to help facilitate God’s
work in the nations. Below is a brief description of
each partner and the unique work we do together.
Words of Life Ministries in Cambodia
Steve Hyde, founder and director of Words of Life, provides
leadership training and materials for more indigenous
leaders than any other ministry in the nation.
NTI works with Steve and his staff to provide training
materials and to perform leadership schools in several
provinces in the more remote regions of the nation.
Cambodia is the first nation where NTI has endeavored
to establish its Media Training Centers. Presently,
there are three areas being targeted for these centers.
Mission Barnabas of East Africa
Ronnie Matheny established Mission Barnabas to serve
the emerging church in the countries of Kenya, Uganda,
and Tanzania. He lives in Nairobi, Kenya serving alongside
his mother who oversees Clarence Matheny Ministries
and his brother who pastors the largest English speaking
church in the nation.
His desire is to connect the resources of the church
in America with the needs of the church in Africa. NTI
sponsors leadership conferences alongside of Mission
Barnabas and is planning to launch Media Training Centers
in the rural areas of Uganda and Kenya as resources
become available.
The Home of Blessing in Chaing
Kham, Thailand
Sayan and Siriporn Kusavadee saw the need many years
ago to minister to the needs of young girls being sold
into the prostitution trade of Bangkok. In response,
they started the Home of Blessing by actually purchasing
girls from the villages in order to save them. What
began in their home with just a few girls, has now blossomed
into two dormitories that house 120 girls.
Besides this powerful mercy ministry, Dr. Kusavadee
desires to establish a training center for the village
and rural pastors of Northern Thailand. He also desires
to set up Media Training Centers in the more remote
areas of the tribal areas in the northern part of the
country. NTI not only helps to resource the Home of
Blessing so these young girls can be saved physically
and spiritually, but we are partnering with the Kusavadees
to bring much needed training to the pastors and church
leaders of Thailand.
Equippers Group International
of Euless, TX, USA
Joe and Jo Hughes are no strangers to missions. Having
served as missionaries in Europe and the Philippines
for 15 years and then serving the training needs of
leaders worldwide from Singapore for another 10 years,
they now have based their ministry in Texas in order
to create leadership materials that will help serve
thousands of leaders globally.
As the founders and directors of EGI, their purpose
is to resource the church leaders of the world with
simple, Biblically sound, and culturally sensitive materials.
These materials are geared to not only establish these
new church leaders in the Christian faith, but to also
enable them to turn around and disciple the new converts
in their churches. It is the privilege of NTI to help
write some of the training manuals in EGI’s “Getting
Equipped Series”.
David and Janene Waldrop
David and Janene are now administrating all of Schools of Leadership Training in East Africa. Living in Nairobi, Kenya, that have access to the indigenous leaders in numerous countries in East Africa.
David and Janene Waldrop have served in Kenya since 2008. They are the parents of 5 children and have 4 grandchildren. Their youngest daughter, Jullianne, serves with them. They have been developing a growing burden for the African Continent since their trip to Botswana in 2005. Their ministry is named MALACHI (www.malachi-ministries.org) and they work alongside the Clarence Matheny Leadership Training Institute (www.cmlti.com).
Both David and Janene have had a calling on their lives for third-world missions since their youth. God has so graciously and mercifully given them this opportunity to meet His calling and they have set their faces towards Him and their lives towards the task set before them.
David is a graduate of Carson Newman College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Having pastored several churches, he realizes that God’s call and his passion at this point in his life is to train church leaders in East Africa. He retired from the United States Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. His pastoral training, military experience and 10 years as a Nursing Home Administrator has prepared him well to train other leaders as the Holy Spirit gives him favor and wisdom.
Janene is also a graduate of Carson Newman College and has studied at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has spent 13 years homeschooling all her children. She is providing guidance and training for Kenyan educators serving the slums of Nairobi. She also will work with mothers, helping them to grow in their parenting skills.
